The current situation

MEES applies to new lettings and lease renewals.  You need to ensure that your property complies before a lease is granted.
The current minimum standard is EPC band E.

Coming up

• 1st April 2023 current rules to be extended to include continuation of an existing lease
• 2025 the minimum standard is likely to rise to EPC band D
• 2030 the minimum standard is likely to rise to EPC band C

How can we help?

• If your current EPC rating is A-E, no immediate problem
• No EPC, or your current EPC rating is F or G, you need to improve the rating to E or better, to continue the lease.
  We will assess your property (see EPC page), suggest recommendations for improvement, and when implemented, issue a new EPC.
